How Hands of Health Works

At Hands of Health, we believe everyone deserves access to essential hygiene products and the dignity of choice.

Our mission is to advance hygiene equity by providing basic hygiene essentials while creating opportunities for individuals and families to access the products they need most.

Step 1: Collect Donations

We collect hygiene products through community donation drives, collection bins, financial contributions, and partnerships with schools, libraries, churches, businesses, and community organizations.

Donated items may include:

Toothbrushes

Toothpaste

Dental floss

Soap

Shampoo

Conditioner

Hand sanitizer

Deodorant

Feminine hygiene products

Lotion

Socks

Other personal care essentials

Step 2: Assemble Essential Hygiene Kits

A portion of donated supplies is used to create Hands of Health Hygiene Kits.

Each kit contains basic hygiene essentials that support everyday health and wellness, including:

Toothbrush

Toothpaste

Deodorant

Soap

Shampoo

Hand sanitizer

Whenever possible, kits also include encouraging messages and resource information to remind recipients that they are valued and supported.

Step 3: Create Community Hygiene Markets (MAIN CHAPTER INITIATIVE) also depends who we are donating to.

Not everyone has the same needs.

While hygiene kits provide important essentials, individuals may need additional products that are not included in every kit. That's why Hands of Health uses remaining donated supplies to create Community Hygiene Markets.

In partnership with local organizations, schools, shelters, community centers, and outreach programs, we set up free hygiene markets where individuals can choose the products that best meet their needs.

Rather than receiving a pre-selected assortment of items, participants are empowered to select products based on their personal circumstances and preferences.

Why Choice Matters

Access to hygiene products is about more than cleanliness—it's about dignity, confidence, health, and well-being.

A parent may need products for their family.

A student may need oral care supplies.

Someone experiencing hardship may need deodorant, shampoo, or menstrual products.

By offering choice whenever possible, we help ensure that donated items are used where they are needed most.

Step 4: Build Healthier Communities

Every donation, volunteer hour, and community partnership helps us expand access to essential hygiene products and promote health equity.

Together, we are working toward a future where everyone has access to the basic necessities they need to live healthy, confident, and dignified lives.

One donation. One kit. One act of kindness at a time.
